Ten years ago, Chris and Kristi settled down in their family's estate in the northern Napa Valley 4 miles south of Calistoga where Chris' Great Aunt Cecelia and Uncle Jerry Blair had established a vineyard 45 years earlier. Along with Chris' mom and dad, the vineyard was re-developed into a premium bordeaux varietal planting in 1996.
Chris has been making wine for over 20 years, primarily in the Napa Valley but with stints in Virginia, New York, the Niagara Pennisula, Chile and Australia. Chris makes the Blair Estate wines and several others in the Napa Valley.
Kristi, with her cheerful and bubbly personality (and retail degree) has taken our wine out to the world. While raising our two daughters, maintaining a household, and managing the office, she has introduced Blair Estate to fine wine shops and restaurants in California and our other points of distrubution across the country.
While most of the grapes produced from the new vineyard are sold to our neighbors Rombauer and Duckhorn, we reserve a small amount for the production of Blair Estate wine.
