Joe Cafaro and his wife Libby developed a 15 acre vineyard in the eastern hills south of the Stags' Leap appellation in 1996. The vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah. The first grapes from the new vineyard where harvested in 1999. This new vineyard is now the only source of fruit for Cafaro Cellars.
"The Cafaro Family Vineyard gives us great control over the style and flavors in our wines," reports Joe Cafaro. With four of the major grape varieties of Bordeaux planted, the Cafaro vineyard gives dynamic multi layers of complexity to the yummy the Cafaro wines.
